Torquay is a great place to unwind, relax and get away from it all. The mild climate and stunning scenery have made it a popular resort since Victorian times and it is easy to see why. Its elegant white villas and famous seven hills provide the backdrop to popular modern facilities such as the Riviera Centre and a busy shopping mall.
Torquay's waterfront is the focus of life in the town, here you'll find the palm lined promenade a lively harbour, and an international marina. There are a wide range of cosmopolitan restaurants, plus a raft of specialist local seafood eating houses unique to the area.
Nearby is the charming village of Cockington where you can wander around the thatched cottages, enjoy a cream tea, and stroll through acres of woodland, or maybe enjoy a drink at the Drum Inn. Paignton with its sandy beaches and busy shopping centre is a lively resort only 3 miles distant, and a little further around Torbay you come to the historic port of Brixham with its busy fishing fleet. Dartmoor, the largest wilderness in southern England is less than an hour's drive away, and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter are also both less than an hour away.
Of course if you prefer something a little more active there are watersports of all kinds, sea angling, walking, golf and bowls to name just a few. Within yards of the hotel is Torre Abbey gardens which offers bowls, tennis, crazy golf and pitch and putt golf. So why not come and see us, and enjoy the delights of the English Riviera.
